Waterschap Hollandse Delta (WSHD)

Drees & Sommer was commissioned by Waterschap de Hollandse Delta to carry out a study into opportunities for improvement in the sourcing strategy and contract management of the Real Estate & Services department. In view of the large number, diversity and spend, a start was made on arranging and clarifying the playing field of the current contracts. From this starting point, various analyses, including Kraljic and Pareto, were applied to provide the client with new insights on, among other things: focus, savings, efficiency improvement and quality improvement. Based on these results, the current status was mapped out and improvement proposals for the future were presented.

Additional value

  • A large contractual spend, of approximately 7.5 million per year
  • Special nature of the organisation where some tasks are laid down by law (e.g. road scattering)
  • Different analyses applied to provide a good picture of: focus, savings, efficiency improvement and quality improvement
